The Healthcare Data Analyst (DA) will perform complex data analysis and data mining to support healthcare fraud detection, program integrity, and payment integrity efforts. The DA will develop and use predictive modeling, mathematical models, neural networks, data mining or other analytical methods to detect Medicare or Medicaid fraud and support law enforcement investigations.  Additional tasks will include ad hoc reporting, proactive pattern and trend analysis, and evaluating data for quality and integrity.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, statistics, or related field with preference given to advanced degrees, and/or equivalent work experience related to the position responsibilities
  • Three or more years of data analysis experience required; 2 or more years in healthcare data or related field preferred
  • Experience in the detection of potential fraud and abuse using tools such as predictive modeling, development of mathematical models, neural networks, and data mining or other analytical methods preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of health care information, for example health claims data, ICD-9/10-CM codes, physician specialty codes, survey and certification data, and provider/supplier identifiers preferred

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills including experience analyzing data with spreadsheet, database, and statistical software
  • Working knowledge of SAS and SAS Enterprise Guide and SAP BusinessObjects; additional experience with SAS Enterprise Miner a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Strong facilitation and problem-solving abilities
